The Met Police Football Independent Advisory Group met on 29th January at Met Police HQ in Lambeth.
Supporter groups from around 10 London football Clubs, the FSA and the Met attended in person and virtually. Fulham Supporters’ Trust was represented by Sue Couch in the room and Ian Clarke on Teams.
This meeting consisted of presentations by Premier League Safety Officers and the Met, focusing on the current push to improve safety for women and girls attending games, followed by a presentation about restorative justice.
We urge supporters, especially female supporters, to take part in the Metropolitan Police survey on tackling violence against women at London Football Clubs. This is an ongoing and developing survey and there is no time limit for submitting your responses, which are being collated by a dedicated female police officer. Please take the time to complete the survey. We need to hear about anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe or unwelcome when you are at games, home or away – and not only the more serious incidents, although you should most certainly include these. Remember that serious incidents can be reported to the police at any time after the event.
Any details you share in the survey will be anonymised and you won’t be named or otherwise identified.
